Partlee Singapore · Planned · 2027
A small, high-density NRI market.
Singapore's Indian-origin population is small in absolute numbers but exceptionally high-income, professionally concentrated in finance, technology, and consulting. Partlee Singapore is being scoped as an HNI-leaning practice.
Available today, via the cross-border practice.
Singapore-resident NRIs can engage Partlee through the cross-border practice. Singapore-law matters wait for SG empanelment in 2027.
The regulatory landscape
Singapore Law Society + Attorney-General's Chambers.
Singapore's legal-profession regulation sits between India's tight model and the UK's open one. The Legal Profession Act and Solicitors' Practice Rules prohibit non-lawyer ownership of law firms and restrict advertising. Singapore's Legal Industry Technology and Innovation initiative encourages technology-enabled legal services, but the practising-lawyer-only rule on Singapore law remains absolute.
Statutes and rules
- §Legal Profession Act (Cap. 161)
- §Solicitors' Practice Rules
- §Women's Charter (the principal matrimonial statute)
- §Family Justice Rules 2014
- §Qualifying Foreign Law Practice (QFLP) framework (does not extend to family law)
The honest read
Singapore family law requires Singapore-admitted lawyers.
The QFLP framework that allows foreign-law firms to practise certain commercial-law disciplines in Singapore does NOT extend to family law. Singapore family matters must be handled by Singapore-admitted advocates and solicitors. Partlee Singapore will empanel SG-admitted family-law practitioners and operate as a technology intermediary - exactly the India model, with stricter advertising-restraint observance to track the Solicitors' Practice Rules.
How Partlee will operate
The architecture, localised.
- 01
Technology intermediary. No marketplace ranking, no client testimonials on advocates.
- 02
Empanelled SG-admitted family-law lawyers.
- 03
Subscription empanelment; no fee-sharing.
- 04
Tighter restraint on advocate-side advertising copy than even India.
- 05
Strong cross-border to India given Singapore's NRI density.
