Philosophy · A short manifesto

Ten things Partlee holds to.

Every empanelled firm, every coordinator, every page on Partlee operates under these principles. They are not aspirational; they are the working culture. They are also what we hire and dehire on.

01

Sensitive by default

Personal matters are not transactions. We do not optimise for conversion at the cost of dignity. One question per screen. Empathy at the hard sections. No nags, no guilt loops, no dark patterns, no pressure to convert.

02

Built for every partnership

Agnostic to gender, sexuality, caste, creed, and profession. Same-sex couples, queer relationships, non-binary partners, polyamorous arrangements, second marriages, blended families, cross-border families - every shape of partnership is a first-class citizen. We do not have a default user. You are not the exception.

03

Cross-border by design

Two partners from two different countries is not a problem we solve, it is a problem we expect. NRI matters, multi-jurisdictional prenups, spousal-visa coordination, immigration advice - part of the product, not a tacked-on add-on.

04

Empanelled firms are the lawyers, not Partlee

Drafting, advocate review, filing, and representation are performed by empanelled professional firms and advocates under their own Bar Council enrollment. Partlee is the platform; they are the lawyers. Mediators are a separately vetted panel, paid on retainer. We are explicit about this on every page.

05

Privacy is the product

Anonymised matter codes by default. Off-platform NDAs available on request. DPDP-compliant from day one. Free-text scanned only for safety keywords, with explicit disclosure. Discretion is not a marketing claim; it is the architecture.

06

Clarity, not outcomes

We do not promise the marriage. We do not push toward divorce. The job is to help you see your situation clearly enough to choose - with a professional firm behind whichever choice. The retreat is a room, not a verdict; the wizard is a price, not a sentence.

07

Editorial as a value

The Magazine is not a content-marketing programme. Atlantic-voice essays on marriage, intimacy, in-laws, the after, written by people who think about this domain because it matters, not because it ranks.

08

Innovation around feeling

We do not copy what other legal-tech does. The Pause Weekend retreat exists because difficult conversations need rooms built for them. The Subscriptions tier exists because most personal matters never reach a courtroom and still benefit from a steady advisor. Innovation is what we do where existing categories underserve the human.

09

No marketplace, no per-lead resale

Empanelled firms join on subscription. We do not sell leads. We do not run advocate-vs-advocate ratings. We do not let cases be bid on. The empanelled firm relationship is direct, durable, and paid for by us - not by the client through hidden margin.

10

The brand is what we don't do

We do not advertise on Google for 'divorce lawyer near me'. We do not list public prices. We do not run a free-trial. We do not optimise for vanity metrics. We do not promise outcomes. We do not chase scale at the cost of position. What Partlee will become is downstream of what Partlee refuses to be.

Coda

Partlee is the version of legal-technology that we wish had existed for the people we love. It is being built that way on purpose. If the principles above ever feel like marketing, the work has drifted; tell us, and we will correct.
